What is the after-hours chat service?

Visiting Librarians from Springshare’s Academic Global Cooperative monitor our Ask the Librarian chat when NCC Librarians are not online (typically overnight, weekends and holidays).
- They may not be as familiar with NCC courses, assignments, departments, operations and library services or resources as the NCC Librarians.
- They do not have access to our library databases and will not be able to perform searches in them, but will assist students with research strategies and concepts as much as possible.
- They will answer all questions to the best of their ability.
Students needing assistance after-hours always have the option of using our NCC Librarian created tutorials, research guides, and Library Q&As to find an answer to their question.
Questions submitted by email or phone will be answered by NCC Librarians promptly during our available hours.
