Can I print in the libraries? Does it cost money?
Answer
Self-service printing is available at both libraries using either a library computer or laptop or your own device.
About Printing & PaperCut
Printing (with the exception of color at Pocono) is through the college PaperCut printing system.
If you are a student, your PaperCut account is active and ready to print when you log in to the library computers. Student accounts have $25 of printing money preloaded on them (this balance automatically resets every semester).
Community visitors and alumni can ask library staff to create a printing account connected to your computer login. Once created, money can then be added to the account.
B&W prints cost $0.10 per sheet and color is $0.50 per sheet. If your balance gets low, reload your account in small amounts in-person at the library service desks or online with a credit card by logging into your PaperCut account at https://papercut.northampton.edu.
Wireless Printing (PaperCut Webprint)
Print wirelessly from your own device by uploading your document at https://papercut.northampton.edu.
Log in with your NCC username (or student id number) and password. Then, follow these steps:
- Click Submit a Job.
- Select a library printer.
- Click Print Options & Account Selection.
- Indicate how many copies you'd like printed, and then proceed to Upload Documents.
- Choose Upload from a Computer and find the file where you saved it on your device.
- Once the file has been uploaded, click Upload & Complete.
-
Wait 20 seconds and pick up your document at the printer you sent the job to.
Helpful Tips for Printing with the PaperCut System
- PaperCut will block any job over 49 pages.
- Library computers default to print double-sided, but this setting can be changed on the Print menu.
- Wireless printing is double-sided only. There is no way to change to single-sided without editing the document to add blank pages to it.
- Only certain file types are accepted for wireless printing.
- Only saved documents and files can be uploaded and printed through PaperCut Webprint. If you are trying to print from a website, try copying and pasting into a Word document or turning the webpage into a PDF using your device's Print function and choosing Save to PDF as your destination. You can also use an online tool like Print Friendly & PDF to turn a webpage into a file.
