How do I get a library card?

Answer

Currently enrolled students, faculty, college staff, alumni, and community members who reside in one of our sponsoring school districts are eligible for a library account allowing them to borrow items from our collections.

Students

Your NCC student id is your library card. When you enroll in classes, a library account is automatically created for you, at no additional cost. In addition, students can use the library's digital resources and databases from any location or device with their Northampton SSO / Workday login.

Faculty and Staff

Your NCC staff id is your library card. When you are hired at the college, a library account is automatically created for you, at no additional cost. Faculty and staff can also use the library's digital resources and databases from any location or device with their Northampton SSO / Workday login.

Alumni

If you are an alumnus who has completed 30-course credits or you have graduated from NCC, you are eligible to obtain a library card.

To get a library card, visit the Circulation or Information Services desks. You will then be able to borrow items from the library's collection. When registering for a library card, you can also create an account for computer, printer, and photocopier access.

Community Members

Community members are eligible for a library card if they:

  • are above the age of 16
  • provide proof of residence in one of our eight sponsoring Northampton county school districts (Bangor, Bethlehem, Easton, Nazareth, Northampton, Pen Argyl, Saucon Valley, or Wilson), or the four Monroe county school districts (East Stroudsburg, Pleasant Valley, Pocono Mountain, Stroudsburg)
  • pay a one-time, $10.00 community guest library card fee

To get your library card, visit the Circulation or Information Services desks with the above necessary eligibility documentation. When registering for a library card, you can also create an account for computer, printer, and photocopier access.
